About
The goal of therapy is not to get you to hate your parents. Parents were usually doing their best and, being human, made mistakes. The task of therapy is often understanding how these past parental mistakes shaped the client's present patterns of thinking, feeling and interaction. I help clients identify and change these patterns and, in the process, resolve their feelings about the parents. I work best for clients: who want to understand themselves, who appreciate a thoughtful and safe space, and, who are willing to do the work to make that change happen.
I am a warm, articulate and, yes, funny therapist. I have a psychodynamic and relational theoretical orientation. Thus, if I think it will be helpful, I am willing to self disclose about myself. Don't worry, I ask beforehand. I am also a former film editor with ADHD. This allows me to make connections between experiences that other people might not see.
Changing the patterns of your life is challenging, but you don't have to do it alone. I offer you an experience of safe, supportive and effective therapy, that you can look forward to attending. I am available for appointments only via teletherapy. The best way to reach me is by text message. I am available for an initial consultation on Sundays.
