My ideal client can be a military veteran, a single parent working two jobs to make ends meet, a first responder, a business executive with decades of experience, or a college student working at the local breakfast cafe. I work with individuals, couples, and I facilitate a monthly men's therapy group. Trauma is reflected individually, through marriages and all forms of partnership, and within family dynamics. There is hurt to be found in the human spirit and within the relationships people make. My ideal client is ready to collaborate in the therapeutic space toward greater self-acceptance and emotional healing.
Healing from our psychological wounds is driven by learning to enact self-care, reframing conclusions about past trauma, and embracing corrective emotional experiences. I offer emotionally-focused, trauma-informed care with modalities designed to reorient those areas of the self that are psychologically disordered.
I never presume to know exactly how a client feels, as the notion is disingenuous and dismissive of lived experiences, though I empathize strongly with all forms and sources of human psychological trauma.
