(My caseload is currently full. To be added to my waiting list please email me). I seek to provide clients with an empathetic, compassionate, and respectful experience. Emotional well-being sometimes requires the resolution of past interpersonal and emotional trauma, whether "large t" or "small t" trauma. Problems and symptoms often have an underlying "emotional truth" or protective function. Therapy is about recognizing the patterns, identifying relevant past experiences and associated beliefs, and then creating the opportunity for emotional learning to be transformed. We now know the brain's neurocircuitry can change.

I may draw from evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, psychodynamic, mindfulness-based CBT, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I may utilize clinical hypnosis to enhance therapy outcomes. I provide therapy for individuals and couples. My work is informed by attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and "brain-based" neuropsychotherapy.

I also encourage integrative holistic health practices, and when possible, the healing connection with nature and animal companions. Those who are religious or spiritual as well as non-religious are all welcome. Texting will not reach me at the number listed here. Most insurances are accepted for individual therapy but not for couples/marital therapy.
