Lifeworks Counseling Center, PLLC has been in business since 1992. We provide therapy for ages 4 and up. We have 9 therapists (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) who provide counseling for almost any emotional/mental/spiritual challenge people face in today's culture. We have therapists on most major insurance and EAP panels and also work with private pay clients as well.

My mission is to help all my clients make quality improvements in their lives. I have years of experience in individual, family, couple, and group counseling. I integrate several forms of psychotherapy approaches such as Internal Family System, BrainSpotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TB-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and more, to tailor treatment to my clients' individual needs. My intervention styles and commitment to my clients' total wellness help them achieve the successful resolution of their underlying issues and traumatic reactions.

Life can be challenging! I assist individuals, couples, and families in moving through difficulties and making positive changes for a more satisfying, fulfillling life. Clients learn to utilize holistic and therapeutic approaches to regain personal balance, vitality, meaning, and a sense of purpose. I've worked in a variety of clinical and hospital settings, including pain management, substance abuse, and mental health, as well as providing services in the community, schools, and homes. My clients include adults, families, adolescents, and children, who learn to view their challenges as opportunities for growth!

We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things from our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here now with the power to shape your day and your future. I believe that everyone is capable of change. In working with people, I feel that it is important to honor an individual's past, listen to their personal experiences, and respect their beliefs to better understand how they make meaning of their world. I am committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental environment that fosters self-exploration and personal growth.

As a mental health clinic, we have multiple male and female nurse practitioners and clinicians that specialize in a variety of treatments. For the past 28 years I have been assisting members in our community and surrounding areas with an array of mental health issues confronting them and their families. Excelsior Therapy works with individuals, couples, families, and groups, even offering adult and teen anger management classes. We believe that using cognitive testing and evidenced-based interventions with the collaboration of clients creates the most positive impact on helping clients meet their goals. In addition, to these therapeutic specialties, Excelsior Therapy is connected with a medical team that can assist with medication management that many clients have come to appreciate.

I have 20+ years of experience working in psychiatric hospitals, medical facilities, community health centers, pediatric clinics, schools, and residential treatment centers. I offered many years to working with children, adolescents, parents, and families through child protective services, rape crisis centers, shelters, neighborhood centers, and adoption centers. I am experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders including PTSD, Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, & Psychosis including the management of other symptoms that stem from family/ relationship conflict, social difficulties, poor school performance, and violence/ abuse.

I've been a therapist for over 40 years and thoroughly enjoy my work. I understand the personal nature of therapy and the difficulty it takes to ask for help when already feeling overwhelmed and vulnerable. I appreciate the responsibility and privilege given me when invited to join you in discussing personal and even painful issues. I'll listen, assume nothing, judge nothing, impose nothing and try to find a solution as individual and personal as your dilemma, as quickly as possible.

I really enjoy the work that I do as a professional counselor. I like the fact that this work is my first choice of profession and not my fall back or secondary job. I believe my core principle in doing this work is to focus on quality of work over quantity of clients. My goal is to provide the very best effort for each client I am fortunate enough to encounter to help them find their best solutions. I do not offer teletherapy. Only in-person.

There are basic truths of human psychology that most people understand intuitively. We do not fully know ourselves; the things we do not know can cause suffering. There is a benefit to self-awareness. I will support you as you develop your innate capacity to be with your own life, just as it is, and assist as you develop more effective strategies for living joyfully and with compassion for yourself as well as others. As we bring together your sense of yourself in past, present and future states, feelings of organization and coherence develop. Choice is restored.

You are one-of-a-kind. And so, beginning with our first meeting, I will be sure that I clearly understand you and your unique needs. Then, as your therapist, I will work to help you establish and achieve the goals that are immportant to you. Effective psychotherapy supports the emotional healing that leads to wellbeing. My approach includes what I call "relational reflective listening and speaking". It's a process that developes and nurtures the deep respect I have for my patients. During the pandemic, our company was available 20 hours a day to offer assistance to those who were so in need. We offer in the office and online sessions. We never closed our doors. The pandemic caused a lot of anxiety and depression around the world.
