I provide a supportive non-judgemental environment for individuals wanting positive change in their lives. I offer ongoing therapy and short-term consultation services to assess causes of distress and discuss treatment options that help improve daily functioning. My practice connects women's health and mental health. Areas of interest include: cognitive behavioral approaches to changing eating behaviors, binge eating, depression and anxiety. I incorporate interpersonal psychotherapy, mindfulness, DBT and cognitve behavioral therapy into treatment. I have received training on CBT and CBT-E from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia and Dr. Christopher Fairburn and DBT training thru Lane Peterson.

I have been involved in therapy for almost twenty years working in areas of criminal justice, social services, mental health, welfare and addiction treatment. I have enjoyed working with all age clients-each having different challenges. Although I enjoy working with all clients, areas of specialization: Adolescent behavioral issues, gambling and addictive behaviors, family and marriage counseling. I encourge clients to work on two main objectives: Self Empowerment and Acceptance of who they choose to be. I do not judge a person because of their concerns, I try to help them learn the tools to avoid future problems.

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" Hello! I am a mental health counselor in Northern Indiana, who uses complete telehealth services. Anyone can be seen, from any location, home, car, private office at work! This allows for convenience & comfort to address those issues that are most troubling to you. I’ve been in the field of mental health & addiction since 1990, having obtained my first Masters in Counseling in 2000 & a Masters in Psychology in 2017. I am licensed in both mental health & clinical addiction. My preference with Telehealth is adults, but I will see some older teens, depending on the circumstances.

I am a licensed psychologist, practicing since 2002 in East Central Indiana. My clients know me as "Sharon or Dr. Sharon" as I am not especially formal. Originally trained in the area of child & adolescent assessment and treatment, ages 3-21, I now consider myself a generalist with eclectic treatment approaches.
