Anxiety, depression, and relational conflicts are what I and my associates' work with Most. Life is a journey with many transitions. We are a child and family psychology practice. My associates and I believe in a cooperative treatment experience where client and therapist share responsibility for the identification and mutual direction of problem solving strategies. We are convinced of the importance of involving significant others in the treatment process when possible. Often children and adolescents react to problems in the context of school and family. We value feedback from teachers and staff professionals and look for collaborative relationships in pursuing the best needs of the child or adolescent.

I work collaboratively with my clients to expand their insight into all the relevant factors and/or influences that are keeping them from reaching their full potential. These factors often include, but are not limited to; the identified stressor(s) that brought them into therapy; the effectiveness (or lack of effectiveness) of their current coping strategies; the influence past experiences and physical discomfort can have on their decision making and behavior; and increasing his or her awareness of their individual strengths and weakness. Simply put, I systematically help my clients make appropriate changes needed to meet their identified treatment goals.

I have over twenty years of experience in the mental health field helping children, adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger, grief, trauma and relationship issues in individual and family therapy at hospitals, schools, community centers and in private practice.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

Often we struggle with our thoughts or experiences, and that struggle gets in the way of us living a complete and fulfilling life. Learning new skills to better manage your depression, anxiety... whatever it is, can be very helpful, but treatment with me will also focus on accepting those parts of you for what they are. Instead of struggling and fighting against those thoughts, those feelings, I try to take a different approach.

I have 26 years experience in the provision of therapy in an outpatient setting to treat a diverse array of presenting problems. I assist clients in problem solving more productive and healthier ways to cope with their unique challenges. A guiding principal in my work is to aid clients in achieving congruence between the person they wish to be and the person they are, thereby continually striving for authenticity. I wish to aid my clients in achieving their fullest potential in order to live gratifying lives personally and professionally.

I take an active part in helping my clients recognize why they may engage in maladaptive behaviors and help them to move toward constructive ways of handling their life issues in more adaptive ways. I worked for three years in the adolescent psychiatry division at Cook County Hospital and have continued my interest and expertise working with adolescents. I also have extensive experience working with clients who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as I was a psychologist on a team working with children who had been physically or sexually abused.
