Are food or body thoughts controlling your life?
Is anxiety or depression keeping you stuck?
Would you like more freedom and peace?
I’m Dr. Monika Peterson, a licensed psychologist with over 22 years of experience in eating disorders, disordered eating, purging, over-exercising, body image concerns, anxiety, and depression. I bring a grounded size-inclusive, non-diet approach grounded in academic rigor and real-world practice. I aim to help clients regulate behaviors, shift or accept unhelpful thoughts, and build effective coping skills.
Let’s work toward balance, self-trust, and sustainable change together!
I approach psychotherapy primarily from a cognitive-behavioral framework. I believe that identifying the unique relationships between emotions, thoughts, and behaviors allows patients to consider if modification will lend to increased life satisfaction and enjoyment. I offer in-person appts in AZ and telehealth appts in AZ and 41 other states (Psychpact).
I have also partnered with BeYOUtiful Nutrition (Brina Jergenson, RD) to offer a virtual intensive program for those recovering after GLP-1 use (eg, weight rebound, body image distress, emotional dysregulation, etc). This program is self-pay and runs Wednesdays 4:00-5:30 PM MST. This a six week program. Please contact me for more details and to register.
