Peter Stone, MA, MLADC, CAS, CART, Drug & Alcohol Counselor in North Conway
With health and human service cuts across the board, the economy failing, and people struggling, there has been a dramatic increase in the need for mental health resources. Mental health is a skill and I provide the skill. Change is not about not doing something, rather, change is about doing things differently. Due to my extensive eduction, training, and research with the substance abuse, anger management, and domestic abuse fields, I consider myself a behavioral scientist and as such focus on the compensatory nature to substance abuse and related abusive behaviors.
With a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Addiction Theory, I am a New Hampshire Master Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor, Board Certified Addiction Specialists with special focus on co-occurring mood disorders. I perform individual and group substance abuse evaluation, education and counseling.
I am a National Certified Anger Resolution Consultant on domestic abuse for and through the Anger Management Training Institute (Huston, Tx) as recognized by the National Association of Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselors. From 1998 through 2013 I was also a certified personal trainer. Like physical heal, mental health is a skill.
