About
I integrate traditional psychodynamic methods with neurological insights and trauma-healing techniques from new somatic therapies. My clients include people with primarily psychological issues (anxiety, some types of depression), issues viewed as organically based (bipolarity, schizophrenia), and issues with both psychological and physiological roots (substance abuse, and some chronic illnesses). In addition practicing general psychotherapy, I offer special expertise for working with dreams, working with artists through their art, and chronic illness support. I'm also available for work focused on maximizing joy and creativity and probing the mysteries of life, as opposed to a desire to reduce personal suffering.
I create a safe non-judgmental psychological space wherein clients feel truly seen and heard, and all issues can be responded to with patience, insight and compassion. I work to release negative patterns and support each person's unique healing path - even if they cannot at first identify it themselves.
My central skill: listening deeply with an open mind and heart. I listen to what's spoken, what's unspoken, and to what may be unspeakable -- as well as to what the images in dreams, day-dreams, and art express -- to decipher the heart's mysteries and heal its wounds.
