As a relationally oriented psychoanalyst with a Ph.D. in English from Yale, I offer in-depth, compassionate therapy that seeks to promote growth and change through understanding the root causes of your current problems. I am especially interested in working with patients who are open to committing to a long-term process and may have already tried other approaches without finding what they are looking for. Psychoanalysts believe our lives are shaped by thoughts and feelings that may be unconscious and go back to experiences in childhood. Because these memories are often traumatic, it may be difficult to revisit them in therapy. Exploring the relationship between the patient and analyst is an important focus of the work.
