I offer trauma-informed, shame-free, LGBT-affirming, sex-positive and kink-positive therapy for each and every person I've had the honor of working with. My practice is grounded in choice and consent, safety, collaboration, trustworthiness, empowerment, and social justice. As a queer therapist and community mental health worker, I've had extensive experience with people struggling with trauma, substance use, and addiction; anxiety, depression, mania, hearing voices, and OCD; with people diagnosed with personality disorders; and with trans adults.
Using principles from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and somatic body-based practices, I can help you discover the wisdom you hold to save yourself and heal from past wounds. I will do this with creativity, humor, blunt honesty, and compassion. I'm trained in EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I.
You are not what’s been done to you. And you are not your darkest parts. As Bessel van der Kolk writes, "the body keeps the score" of our wounds. Our bodies also offer the pathways out of trauma and toward healing and safety.
