My goal as your therapist is to help you develop a deep sense of your authentic self, and to cultivate your own strength and confidence in your ability to handle what life throws at you. We will work together primarily through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), an intuitive and evidence-based approach to therapy. Have you ever used the phrase "Part of me feels..." to describe an internal conflict? IFS takes the idea of "parts" and provides a framework for healing the wounded parts of yourself. By approaching these "parts" with compassion and understanding, we create new space for you to live your life free of old burdens.
I am passionate about working with trauma of all sorts, especially complex trauma, abuse, and medical trauma. I also work well with clients who experience anxiety, panic, specific phobias, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorders, and grief and loss. I am trans and I have many years of experience working within the LGBTQ+ community.
Of particular note, I want you to understand that no problem is too big or too small for us to work together. No matter who you are, I offer a grounded, engaged, and nonjudgmental presence.
