I see my job as an emotional container. A safe space for expressing the deep and scary stuff, where we hold those vulnerabilities together. My sessions focus on exploring and developing familiarity with core beliefs about identity, deeper experiences related to view-of-self, and wounds from the past that might still influence feelings today. “Processing” emotions with me means feeling them in an environment where it becomes gradually more possible to understand them. Not without challenge, but certainly without judgment. I bring tenderness and compassion to all interactions in the therapy room.
The relationship between therapist-client characterizes the success of therapy. Working with me, we will first and foremost focus on building security together so that our relationship can “hold” the difficult experiences you may wish to process.
I’m a third culture kid, second generation Asian American and operate from a feminist, anti-oppression, trauma-informed lens. I believe in acknowledging and deconstructing power structures that influence interactions even in therapy.
