My clients enjoy a variety of experiences in sessions from being deeply heard, felt, and validated to being accompanied as they explore issues of concern and curiosity. We form a bond as they get to know themselves better through these experiences of self. They begin to heal childhood wounds and finish developing in ways they might not have thought possible. I believe the research which states the two most important elements of effective therapy: 1) Create a strong therapeutic alliance between therapist and client; and 2) Each client's belief that the therapy practiced is creating a positive outcome for the client.
It's been my pleasure to see a wide variety of people: over 15 years of practice. I see people experiencing domestic violence, some working through addiction, depression, anxiety; those recovering from traumatic events; and people suffering from profound mental illness such as schizophrenia and other disorders.
Look forward to learning skills from Polyvagal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (skills training only), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and other practices for a good mental health toolbox. I practice from the perspective of Interpersonal Neurobiology.

I work with clients experiencing childhood trauma and other traumatic experiences to examine and process what happened, when necessary, and help clients to integrate their experience(s) into a more empowering narrative. Because much depression, anxiety, and even ADHD can come from early childhood trauma, many of my clients practice mitigating the symptoms they experience.

Once a therapeutic alliance is established, I use Polyvagal Theory, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing to allow clients to begin confronting their past experiences and/or behaviors. More interventions are practiced as needed such as different forms of EMDR (brain-body therapy allowing for the processing of trauma) and self-examining techniques.
