Since 2011, I’ve been working as a professional who specializes in helping people cope with their issues in faith-based institutions. I walk alongside with my clients in a way where mercy meets wisdom. I've been immersed in the field of mental and behavioral health since 2011, earning both my bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. Throughout my career, I've engaged with diverse populations, offering support in areas such as substance abuse, trauma, grief, life transitions, intimate relationships, anxiety, depression, perinatal issues, and behavioral challenges.

Dr. Ken McGill has been counseling for 25 years. Dr. McGill has a BA in Religion, and his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. Dr. McGill has his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and is a Licensed MFT in Texas and California. Dr. McGill holds a certification in Alcohol and Drug Studies from UCLA, and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Dr. McGill directed a residential treatment program for people challenged with sexual compulsivity, relationship addiction and sexual trauma. Dr. McGill also respectfully supports the integration of spirituality into the clinical treatment process.

Often individuals and couples face an impasse & may realize they might not have the tools to move forward. ***Now offering telehealth services*** Counseling Center of North Texas has multiple therapists with the education, experience, and desire to help you or a loved one with whatever obstacles you may face including conflict with family, relationships, school, and/or work, depression, anxiety, ADHD and other mental health disorders, grief/trauma, stressful life events, adoptions, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, and self-harm/other unhealthy coping skills. Christian counseling is available. We see children 3 and up, adolescents, adults, and seniors for individual, marital, family, and group counseling.

While working as a middle school shop teacher I saw the role of the school counselor and pursued a master's in school counseling, while working on that degree I saw the opportunity of a full time mental health counselor. I stayed in grad school and earned the second masters in Professional Counseling. I continued teaching as long as a I was able to working on my hours to become a fully licensed Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. Once I realized the challenges of remaining a teacher and acquiring my hours (3000) for the full license I left teaching work in a geriatric psych hospital as a full time therapist.

Analysis and therapy help us move beyond the places we are stuck to a better understanding of who we are. I provide sexual addiction help in an atmosphere that is encouraging and accepting and meet the client and his or her family where they are. My specialty is sexual addiction, and I am a Dallas area Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) trained personally by Dr Patrick Carnes. I treat drug and alcohol dependence, and associated trauma, grief, and depression as well. I treat cybersex addiction, pornography addiction, multiple affairs, and other sexually compulsive behavior. Sexual addiction, like other addictions, affects the whole family system, especially the partner. I am a CPTT, Certified Partner Trauma Therapist as well.
