Percy Ford, MC, LPC-MHSP, NCC established Lighthouse Correctional Counseling and Mental Health Services in 2012 to provide Individual Psychotherapy, Family Counseling, Group Therapy and Couples Counseling to offenders and their families. Mr. Ford earned a BS in Social Work from Tuskegee University in 1997 and graduated from Argosy University School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences in 2007 with a MA in Professional Counseling.

My passion is providing therapy services for adolescents, teenagers, and young adults (12-35). I am licensed in Tennessee with 10 years of professional work experience in America as well as the Netherlands. Prior to my time at private practice, I was fortunate to work with a diverse population facing a broad spectrum of clinical issues in the community and local mental health centers. I work with everyone and work with most insurance companies (except Medicare) and many EAPs. My primary practice focuses on the value and worth of women. I confront shame and self-blame. I also see teenagers and work with their families as desired.

I have over 20 years experience in private practice and institutional settings. I work with individuals and couples. I use traditional talk therapy methods as well as instituting new approaches such as the use of EMDR for those suffering from trauma.

My ideal client is an individual who may be having difficulty with bio-psycho-social-spiritual behavior changes. These difficulties include but are not limited to the following: difficulty coping with a traumatic event, poor anger management, school or social issue behavior problems, boundaries issues, and sibling rivalry. My ideal client will be motivated in finding self-sustaining coping strategies and insight into the reasoning behind the challenges they face.
