I believe every person has an innate motivation to move towards the best version of themselves. I view my position in the therapeutic relationship as supporting a person through what may be a very difficult time so that the individual or family can move forward.I view therapy from a person-centered perspective, meaning that an individual or family leads decisions regarding change. What I find most important in counseling is the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor. I nurture this relationship by providing a safe space for people to explore their deep personal struggles while I remain nonjudgmental and empathetic.

I am person-centered, which means I focus on your inherent value and strengths.
I enjoy helping people of all ages who struggle with life’s challenges. Occasionally, we find ourselves needing some assistance and guidance through day-to-day bumps in the road enhanced by anxiety and related concerns. I’ve worked with individuals through life changes and parenting challenges. For many years, I worked within the education environment and found first hand the effects of untreated or mistreated anxiety. Sense of self, avoidance, depression, social concerns, and family relationships are just a few of the challenges. When we learn about our values, strengths, and goals, a stronger sense of self is the outcome.

I use strategies from Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), SFBT, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered.
I'm a LPC-Associate, under supervision by Katrena Hart, LPC-S. I believe we have the power within us to achieve our goals and process through our past experiences in a way that feels best for us. Sometimes, we just need a guide. People desire counseling for many reasons--to process the past/future, develop a career identity, build self-esteem, reduce anxiety and stress, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns. My approach allows you work at your own pace, addressing areas you think are important. If you want to hear more about what to expect in therapy, feel free to email or call.

My health care background, as a Registered Nurse, has given me a holistic person-centered approach and a personal understanding of the stress caregivers face daily.
Do you assist and serve others professionally or personally while seeking meaning and purpose? Perhaps, you’re feeling overwhelmed and your once fulfilling work is starting to lose its appeal? The world is often full of unexpected events. Even with the best laid plans, these events can lead to struggles. While it’s a gift to care for others during difficult times, it can leave us drained, off balance, and feeling alone. You are a dedicated caregiver to others. Is it time to give yourself that care, as well?

I believe therapy should be tailored to you! My goal is to help those I work with feel seen, understood, and safe as we tackle your most difficult issues. I believe we're all doing the best we can, but we still all get stuck - usually with outdated coping mechanisms that inadvertently hurt us. I use therapy to empower you to better understand your own difficulties and then care for your wounded parts that get stuck (you get to heal you - pretty cool). I help partners heal wounds and create safety so that you can comfort and love one another like you want to. In therapy, I aim to create new experiences of feeling seen and connected.

Navigating the world as a teenager or young adult can be difficult on its own. Then, add in life stressors that can come with school and life planning and the experience can be overwhelming. As a counselor, my goal is to provide clients a safe and non-judgemental space where they can engage in self-exploration. This includes learning to manage experiences of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. It can be helpful to have a space to work openly with these struggles. It is my goal to empower clients to face obstacles in their path and develop a stronger sense of self.
