With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling, I believe in the work of this field. Welcome! My name is Zachary Durham, M.S. and I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been an active counselor for the past 15 years and have specialized in marriage and family therapy for most of my career. My areas of focus include anxiety, coping skills, depression, family conflict, stress, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, and self esteem, amongst others. I have also worked in the hospital setting for 12 years and specialized in brain injury recovery and grief therapy.

It is normal to have challenges in life, and there should be no stigma attached to asking for help. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my goal is to listen and gently help guide individuals through any turbulent situations that they are currently experiencing or that are unsettled from the past. I believe that challenges offer individuals an opportunity to learn more about themselves, an opportunity to become more authentic, and an opportunity to become more grounded.

Based on my 25 years of experience, I usually recommend a holistic and objective assessment of the problems as part of the solution. These assessments include understanding, first and foremost, the needs of the individual. These can include anxiety, depression, ADHD, peer issues, family problems, stress, and many other things. I treasure the insight the individuals bring to the conversation with their questions, concerns, observations, and overall experiences. I bring these understandings to my therapy sessions and welcome those involved with the individual to lead the individual towards a more passionate, kind, fulfilling life.

I am 67 years young. I have been a clinical social worker/psychotherapist in the Brazos Valley since 1988. I have a good "grapevine" of local professionals, so I often help clients with information/referral to resources for on-going support beyond therapy. I welcome questions you may have.
