Perhaps they feel out of control because they have been suffering from high stress, increased anxiety, loss of sense of self, trauma, relationship or parenting issues, or depression. Our clients come to us because they want to regain control of their life and reduce their pain.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in helping her clients overcome the issues of life.My goal is to form safe and trusting relationships with clients.One of my objectives in working with clients is to help them live purposeful, and satisfied lives.Having overcome life-altering losses of my own and having become a Licensed Professional Counselor I have obtained the tools to help others overcome as well.Today I work with adults who are struggling with the issues of life including lack of boundaries, mental illness and personality disorders. I have extensive experience working with those who have endured trauma.

And when we experience various traumas/stressors in our life, we can internalize them and believe unhealthy narratives about ourself and the world. While learning coping skills/practical tools are important, I have learned that working through the core/root issues are where long-lasting healing takes place.

My broad-range experience: studied at Ohio State University under top-ranked professors in Counseling Psychology and brain injury. RESIDENCIES: Minneapolis VA hospital; Ohio State's brain injury rehab unit. 17+ years inpatient rehab neuropsychology experience at Baylor Rehab Dallas, Pate Rehab. 1990-95: Christian counseling & neuropsychology at Minirth-Meier Clinic. Adjunct Professor: LPC-level Counseling degree program at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Clients want to understand their relationships, feel equipped to handle life's stressors and learn how to gain the tools they need to live a functional life. The ideal client is the one who is trying to make amends with past decisions, understand the ebb and flow of setting boundaries, sit through the heavy emotions of grief and loss, and manage the invasive thoughts of doubt, insecurities, fear, or uncertainties. They want to overcome shame, guilt, and despair. Parents want to relate with others who struggle with parenting. Couples want to know if their relationship is repairable.

Going to therapy is one of the most courageous actions to take, because it takes true strength to say, “I need support.” My purpose is to hold space for my clients to process and to leave each session feeling seen and heard! So, I am intentional about creating safety through being empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental.

Dr. Burchette is a Licensed Psychologist with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He brings a wealth of experience through his background of working with a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults in both clinical and medical settings. Dr. Burchette received his doctoral degree from the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology program at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. During his graduate training, he worked with a range of patients presenting with comorbid physical and mental health concerns in a variety of settings.

One of the hardest decisions in life is to seek help. We all encounter challenges and/or disadvantages at some point, and it is easy to feel discouraged and criticize yourself in this process. Although these difficulties can affect you in profound ways, I believe that they are also opportunities to learn about your inner world and reflect upon what is working and what is not. This journey is quite exhausting for one person, so I aim to become a part of your support system. I hope to empower each individual to make personal choices that will allow them to discover confidence, direction, happiness, peace, and healing.
