I work with teens, adults, families and couples looking to navigate life's transitions, learn to cope with anxiety and depression, strengthen bonds, learn effective communication skills and heal through trauma to mental wellness. I am looking for clients who want to feel better, who will do the work to get to the other side, of whatever is holding you back from being happy and well. I work with people ready for a real positive change, be that from day to day anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, relationship struggles or negative family dynamics.

A large part of my practice centers around working with families and helping parents of children who may be having behavior problems at home or at school and working with the children and adolescents themselves. I incorporate child-centered play therapy with young children as well as Adlerian and behavioral concepts with parents. I am a licensed psychologist with Health Service Provider in Psychology credential, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a retired MTSU professor after teaching in the Professional Counseling Program for 25+ years. In addition to helping families, I also work extensively with couples and individuals who may be experiencing a variety of problematic daily living situations.

Tiffany Porter is the lead therapist and co-founder of Help Recovery Centers. She has a degree in healthcare management and is a level II licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor. For the last 10 years, she has been providing alcohol and drug assessments and outpatient substance abuse treatment, while directing and managing the daily activities of the DUI Education Centers. The DUI Education Centers is an education and alternative sentencing facility for non-violent alcohol and drug related offenders. Tiffany also works as a counselor and medical liaison with Recovery Consulting Service’s Suboxone and counseling program..

I provide counseling and coaching to female teens and adults living with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, major life transitions and maladaptive coping. Mental health and physical health are irrevocably connected—poor mental health can lead to poor physical health and harmful behaviours. Depression has been linked to many chronic illnesses. I take a holistic approach to therapy and discuss physical health/fitness and nutrition; emotional resilience; positive social connections; intellectual stimulation and spiritual fulfilment.
