Meredith is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in both acute inpatient and traditional outpatient settings. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University. Meredith practices evidence-based techniques and approaches to therapy. Some of her clinical interests include: depressive disorders, managing stress and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, relational issues, trauma and abuse, grief, self-esteem, health/wellness, life transitions, and creating and maintaining healthy boundaries.

My passion is helping clients find what works for them. My heart is focused on helping people with substance use issues, self-esteem, and all kinds of relationships. The people I love to work with are those that have tried to change so many times that they have almost given up hope. I love helping clients get to the actual root of their issues, so that they no longer desire old habits. I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, Trauma/PTSD, burnout, addiction, and marital difficulties. I enjoy pre-marital or pre-engagement counseling. My primary mode of treatment is EFT for couples and IFS for individuals. I love IFS, because it heals childhood wounds so thoroughly and deeply, and because it enables the client to do the bulk of the healing.

I completed my residency at Vanderbilt University and served as an expert consultant for NBC's Today Show. As a psychologist, I have the opportunity to help people understand and navigate very difficult situations. I help my patients develop insight into problems that prevent them from feeling whole and complete. By reading between the lines and exploring the complexity of physical and mental health we are able to finally resolve long-standing concerns. It's my belief that within relationships we are both hurt and healed. I practice from a relational approach, specifically Attachment Theory. Attachment shapes how we view ourselves and others, and influences how we "do" close relationships. We may unconsciously carry feelings of anxiety, pain, humiliation, or even abandonment from our relationships. For example, early childhood experiences of sexual abuse, neglect, grief, loss, or vicarious trauma impact one's perception of safety and security. As a result, we may find it difficult to form satisfactory relationships in adulthood. Navigating through this process alone can be hard.Thankfully, you don't have to do it alone.
