I provide trauma informed care and utilize an Eclectic and person-centered approach to therapy since no one modality fits all. Therapy is a collaborative process where we will work as a team to get clients to a place where they want to be.

As a dedicated and compassionate counselor, my approach is rooted in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Person Centered Therapy, Logotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

It takes courage and strength to take an inventory of your mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational health. For some, just taking that first step can be the hardest part and it may feel quite overwhelming. For others, it may be difficult to get back into the rhythm of caring for your overall well-being. All of us are born inherently valuable and that never changes. Unfortunately, things like depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD and addiction may have us questioning that truth. We often become our own worst critic especially at a time when we need encouragement, guidance and perspective the most. Since 2011 when I began working in mental health my primary mission has been to challenge the negative self-talk, that only keeps us in a downward depressed cycle. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy along with cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, experiential therapy and EMDR depending on the client’s needs.

Hi! I'm currently accepting new, individual clients ages 10-65 years old. I work with adolescents and adults and do my best to offer a comfortable space for you to be yourself. I hope that over time, we can foster a therapeutic relationship that will allow for growth and change in your life and your relationships. I am happy to offer a Christian perspective to clients who prefer to integrate their faith into their therapeutic journey. If this is not your preference or you do not identify as Christian, please know I would still love to work with you while integrating your perspectives.

Developmentally in the US, we begin to truly form our identity as teenagers, but sometimes that gets stunted for one reason or another. I want to be able to walk by your side while you discover and choose who you want to be at whatever age that may happen. Anxiety, depression, and OCD are other issues I focus on.

Sometimes we come to a time in our life when we can use some guidance. I love working with people to help them along their way. We can explore what works for you and what doesn't. Together we can figure out where you want to go from here and how to get there. I've helped many adults and youth with personal growth as they navigated through life stressors and transitions.

At times life can be stressful and overwhelming leaving you feeling anxious, depressed, discouraged, or a mixture of emotions. I am available to help you navigate through not only the stressful times of life but also to help you deal with making difficult decisions, help you to understand your reactions to certain situations, assist you in wading through the depths of trauma, and other situations where it would be helpful to have a kind, nonjudgmental ear to listen and offer understanding.

A large part of my practice centers around working with families and helping parents of children who may be having behavior problems at home or at school and working with the children and adolescents themselves. I incorporate child-centered play therapy with young children as well as Adlerian and behavioral concepts with parents. I am a licensed psychologist with Health Service Provider in Psychology credential, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a retired MTSU professor after teaching in the Professional Counseling Program for 25+ years. In addition to helping families, I also work extensively with couples and individuals who may be experiencing a variety of problematic daily living situations.
