There are multiple approaches we can take to therapy together, whether that is dealing with stressors in the present or processing difficult or traumatic events from the past. We can work to develop better insight and self-compassion, set boundaries and develop healthier relationships, or unpack privilege and learn to be a better ally. I am comfortable and knowledgeable about topics relating to sex and sexuality, sex positivity, poly/non-monogamy, and intersections of identity. I have working knowledge in domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual offending, and addiction issues.

I work collaboratively with clients in identifying needs, making changes, and practicing new skills in a safe and supportive setting. Sometimes getting assistance is the difference between lasting change, or staying stuck in an increasingly devastating cycle. Depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, stress and conflict are just a few things that can be overwhelming and make life and relationships difficult to manage. . As a person with lived experience and in long term recovery I am able to connect with and encourage people to make a lasting change.

You can rely on me to show up to counseling with a team approach- we are in it together to find solutions for the challenges you are facing. Often, when people are in the middle of a difficult time, they lose sight of their own strengths and resources. You can rely on me to help you find these and develop ways to put them to use to feel better. Commonly, people set out to solve a problem only to have the solution, over time, turn out to be unhelpful or even unhealthy. You will find me ready to address the here-and-now as well as the original issues so you can find your way back to a place where you have real, usable solutions.

My clients are mostly adults in individual and couples therapy who are navigating the stressors of relationships, adulthood, life transitions, communication, dating, anxiety, and attachment. You may be someone who is struggling to live in the uncertainty that life often brings, or maybe you're navigating boundaries in your relationships - all things that bring about anxiety and fear for many people. Despite what it may be, I am here to support you and talk through it with you. I can offer support in areas of anxiety, depression, grief, family/relationship/dating challenges, identity formation, sexuality, and personal growth.

I believe that the client-therapist relationship is foundational to the success of your treatment and I take your overall satisfaction seriously. I work with adults and children as a solution-focused therapist. I also work with chronic pain, reproductive health, and women's health, and infertility. I also focus heavily on the parent-child relationship and family systems work. I have training in many parenting and discipline practices that have effectively helped manage challenging behaviors as well as address parenting snafus. I am also interested in and helping people explore human sexuality and relationships.

Teletherapy for now (both locations), and Oregon residents only at this time. Do you feel like you have more than you can handle right now? Sometimes it feels like no one can possibly understand what's going on, and we just need someone to hear us. Being able to process concerns in a safe and neutral place is paramount. I believe compassion and attunement is vital in relationships as well as in the therapeutic relationship. It's helpful to explore and gain understanding of past and present experiences, behaviors, hurts, and wounds. While change can be difficult it can also be deeply rewarding.

I have been working in the field of counseling since 2000 having received my Masters of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and Alaska and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. I offer online individual counseling to adults and adolescents in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.

I work with those who have suffered from low self-worth for most of their lives; with people who believe they are unlovable and unworthy of connection or belonging, and who would classify themselves as 'not enough.' These sorts of beliefs are extremely painful and often cause us to cope in ways that can lead to issues with eating disorders, pervasive anxiety, depression, feeling out of control with emotions, social isolation, crisis of faith, and insecurity in relationships. When we struggle with low self-worth we tend to become our own worst enemies and can easily get stuck in this pattern, not knowing how to free ourselves.
