Being a teen or young adult is hard. Besides drowning in a culture of “never enough,” they are bombarded daily by a constant stream of messaging about who, how and what they are supposed to be. The pressure is often crippling, the messages are confusing, and it can be tough to know where to turn for help. For over a decade, I have worked with teens, young adults, and parents who are learning how to navigate this important period with self-awareness, skill, and confidence. I listen carefully and read between the lines, helping young people figure out what is really going on and helping them forge their own, unique path forward.

How do I even begin? My brain never turns off. Palms sweating, pulse racing, can’t breathe. Constantly feeling like I’m one step away from imploding. I would say losing my mind but I’m pretty sure that’s already gone. Its either all of that or nothing, just feeling numb and disconnected. Haven’t had one positive thought about myself or believe I’m even capable of anything. Not sure how I can ever take a step towards healing from all that life has dumped on me. Those around me don’t understand. Doing anything I can to survive, even if it hurts me. Constantly surviving one moment to the next.

I lean heavily on Rogerian / Person-Centered, Harm Reduction, and Motivational interventions along with skills borrowed from many evidenced based practices to assist in your recovery.
If you are going through something and need some support, it would be my honor to try to help you out. What you might face now may have something to do with the past, and may also impact the future for the worse if something isn't done now, in the present. I would enjoy working with you to consider the past and future while also focusing on the present as much as possible in order to glean what is most within your control, what are your resources and options, your abilities and limitations, how do we honor and validate these while also encouraging some change, and how do we tolerate what is outside of our control, etc.

I use primarily person centered techniques and believe that the client is the expert on themselves and see my role as a supportive one in the process of growth.
I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make change and want to find ways to gain greater control of their lives. I believe impactful changes can be made for anyone who has a willingness to explore themselves on a deeper level including their personal history, relationships, coping skills, triggers, hopes and dreams. I believe it's important to maintain consistency in meetings, clear identification of goals and ways to measure personal success. I'm more than willing to dig into techniques that work best for a client and enjoy when people bring their own interests, passions, and ideas into sessions.

Drawing from modalities such as person-centered therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution-focused therapy, I tailor our sessions to best suit your preferences.
Everyone comes from a different path of life. At times, our journeys can be overwhelming and can leave us feeling anxious and depressed. They can add up to us feeling isolated, like support is a distant option. As a human being, I don’t believe that people should feel alone or struggle alone. Along with that, I feel called to be an advocate for mental health and overall wellness. I specialize in providing support and guidance to those who are navigating the challenges of anxiety, depression, and life changes. With a deep commitment to empowering my clients, I offer a safe and nonjudgmental space for healing and growth.
