I often sit with people experiencing anxiety and confusion about growth, change, grief or disappointing events. When our lives are destabilized it's hard to think and emotions are rocking. At the very same time that more is asked of us, new stressors may amplify old self-doubt. A therapist can ask questions that lead to new behaviors - helping you find your wise mind and accepting what you must - so you may reclaim strength. There are tools that can support your path towards resilience. If symptoms have made their way into your daily functioning, don't stay in a place of misery. Let me help you get back to your best self.
I believe healing is an emotion/mind/body experience. I am a DBT therapist who loves to bring mindfulness into learning new behaviors. I will support the focus on your desired outcome for therapy, while bringing my experience to the table to assist. If you do the work I trust you'll find ways to suffer less and to make your life worth living.
When I moved to California I experienced a significant JOLT! Nearly everything changed and I lost most of my support system and some of my self. Following wise guidance I invested in the people and activities that brought joy. Most importantly, I learned to talk less and to DO more! What is your story? What do you fear? What strengths can you count on?

Peggy Lingard's Groups

Under construction - to begin in August 2021

Mastery - Using skills and knowledge in daily life. The group teaches skills that help you manage your emotions, as well as be more intentional in your life. You may learn ways address distress, including accepting what is. Practicing skills in real life and sharing as you become proficient becomes a powerful learning experience for the group. As we trust that we can cope with what comes our way, self-trust and effectiveness increase. That leaves a lot of room for a willing and resilient life. What are you looking for? What will make your life worth living?
