My experience in both school and clinical settings has prepared me to work with individuals from all walks of life. I can provide sessions in-person or via telehealth based on your needs. I enjoy providing a safe place to explore one's need for clarity. Life presents difficult challenges that we need help with sometimes, and in today's climate of individualism and business, it is hard to naturally find this safe place. I do my best to encourage clients to embrace truths that will move them into a more peaceful existence. Being willing to explore one's self is a brave act that deserves honor and respect. I also enjoy group experiences as I have observed our nature to encourage one another in our process.

Michelle Counts, LPC received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and serves as a crisis response therapist for Disaster Victims Services. Michelle enjoys working with children, adolescents, individuals and couples. Her clinical background includes in-home, residential and outpatient therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She also has extensive experience in grief counseling as well as marriage and family therapy in a private practice setting.

We are a multi-specialty therapy practice serving the needs of the entire family. From postpartum depression and infertility, to trauma and addiction, to ADHD and anxiety, we are here for your family. We utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Art and Play therapy. We have each received specialized training in our respective areas of expertise, and we are so excited to bring these services to Baldwin and Jefferson Counties.

Shannon Wise, LPC has diverse experience of working in mental health as a Therapist Acute for about 5 years with voluntary and involuntary clients in crisis needing stabilization to reintegrate into their daily life routines, and has worked as a Mental Health Professional for about 4 years in a local correctional facility serving an at-risk population with managing their stressors and assessing needs for referrals for medication and interventions for safety precautions or special observation for chronic symptoms. Triggers may vary between situational adjustment stressors, serious mental illness, personality, or substance abuse.

In this day and age it can be hard to find the space to discuss the challenges of life with someone in a safe and genuine way. I enjoy meeting people where they are at in life, without judgement, and helping them sort out their next steps whether they be for improvement, maintenance, or understanding.

A lot of people find themselves trapped in chronic cycles of conflict that lead to disconnection, distance, and loneliness in their relationships. I believe hidden in the conflicts are seeds of opportunity. Opportunities for disconnection and distance or opportunities for deeper understanding and connection. Using structured techniques, I help create a space that allows couples to break habitual, destructive patterns of conflict, uncover the root cause of their conflicts, and change the paradigm, inviting deeper connection, deeper understanding, and deeper intimacy.

I believe in solution-based therapy and my goal is to work individually with each of my clients, helping them to discover and explore solutions to their problems and developing a new way of looking at them. I challenge each of my clients to explore their world in new ways of comprehension and to learn how to make better choices in their lives.

My goal is to take a holistic approach, to see the client as a unique individual and expert of their own life, and tailor the treatment to reflect what would best serve their needs. I would like to share with clients techniques that incorporate evidence-based practices, as well as mindfulness and positivity, to teach them how to calm their over-stressed nervous systems, to gain clarity in their chaotic lives, and unload burdens in a safe and therapeutic environment without judgement.

I have been a LPC for over twenty years practicing in both the private and public sector. I enjoy helping adults and adolescents manage mood and anxiety symptoms, navigate relationship difficulties and organize their lives to assist in setting and reaching their goals.

I graduated in 2000 with a master’s degree in social work. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) therapist in Alabama, Colorado, and DC working with individuals at different stages of life.
