I'm aware of there's a gap in quality mental health care, and strive to fill that gap by providing accessible and personalized therapeutic services. I provide a nonjudgmental and private space, where together we can explore your experiences, feelings, and perspectives and foster meaningful change.

An integrated, holistic approach is central to finding peace. I use a variety of therapeutic models to support and guide you through your personal wellness and healing journey. As a former bodyworker and current mental health professional, my personal experience and professional path have brought me here to this place, where I am honored to go on this journey with you. I love to see people reduce distress and learn to function and build relationships where they could not before. I work with individuals who have experienced relational and personal stress, as well as developmental, generational, and system-induced trauma.

My background is in Sociology, the understanding of people in their environments, & Social Work, understanding why people think & behave a certain way. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking change in their lives because they have either experienced a recent event that has caused stress, depression, and/or anxiety, or they are recognizing their need to address past trauma in order to move forward in their lives to become the best version of themselves. All individuals have life experiences, both traumatic and positive, that shape their worldview and how they live their lives. These experiences are interwoven into all our relationships, jobs, parenting, and daily interactions.

I understand how risky it is to be vulnerable and I also understand how difficult it is to choose someone to trust with your life's secrets with. We face many challenges in life and it is OKAY to ask for help. My goal as a clinician is to assist you in identifying your life goals, collobartively create a plan to tackle those goals and provide you with the tools and skills to achieve them. We often convince ourselves that the information that we add to facts are also facts. This can cause severe emotional distress. I would love to help you begin to let go of negative thought processes and begin to experience reality as it is.

I have a high success rate with patients who are diagnosed with grief, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and anger issues. I have personal experience and recovery from the effects of trauma. Clients who have anxiety benefit from coping/calming therapy techniques. I am qualified to work with families to reduce conflict, teaching fair fighting, and communication skills. Also, work with people to reduce negative symptoms of Schizophrenia and Bipolar. Christian Therapy is very effective for persons who are spiritual in nature. Children have unusual ways of communicating their feelings, and my focus is to build worth and self-esteem through Play Therapy.

I have been practicing in Nevada since 1998. I previously worked in clinics and internships in the San Diego area while completing my doctorate training. The child population is significantly under served in Nevada and through my practice I hope to provide guidance, support and hope to families that are struggling and in need. My treatment approach encompasses the family as a whole and assesses the needs of all members, not just the identified patient.

I have a Masters degree in Social Work from Portland State University and over 40 years of experience working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I began my private practice, Pathways to Peace Therapy, over 20 years ago, while also working in community mental health and E.R. crisis intervention for over 15 years. In 2014, I also began working with OCD patients. Working in various mental health settings has been invaluable in providing tools to bring to my clients individual needs and goals.

Perhaps the previous methods of coping are not working. Maybe the words and ability to express those emotions are challenging and unnerving. Maybe life has forced a new role and now self identity/worth are being challenged. Therapy can be the tool to learn to be independent, autonomous, confident and self sufficient. To live a life where it is comfortable in setting boundaries, to live in your truth and learn the tools for self acceptance or the freedom of releasing the hold of what has been emotionally restrictive. All while learning to face those parts of ourselves that create shame, pain and discomfort in a space that is safe.
