My intention is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to all clients, intentionally providing space for the queer community and their families. I am warm, approachable, humorous, and strengths-based with clients. I use a variety of modalities to help people heal, grow and explore themselves including: nature-based therapy, experiential therapy, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and empowerment models.

Queer Asterisk is a queer and trans-led 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in Colorado. We provide outpatient individual, relational, family and group counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and relationships of all configurations. Our diverse team of compassionate, affirming mental health providers and graduate-level clinical interns create safer therapeutic spaces for clients to heal and grow. We also offer gender awareness and responsiveness trainings for other organizations and healthcare providers, including hospitals, schools and treatment centers.

More and more people are having trouble knowing who they are or where they belong in life. What we were taught growing up or what we learn from society doesn't make sense or apply any longer. Because of this, we have difficulties from depression to questioning our own belief system. It may appear as confusion, anxiety, anger, or anything that disrupts our day-to-day life. When we feel this way it is a hurt or loss that is almost impossible to describe. My type of counseling presents people with an opportunity to understand why and how they think and feel the way they do and to go deeper than they could have possibly imagined.

I primarily work with individuals struggling with addiction, intrusive thoughts, unwanted sexual behavior, and challenges with developing and maintaining intimacy. I also have expertise in dealing with childhood trauma, particularly male childhood sexual abuse. My work with clients centers around clarifying their connection with their intuition. In doing so, I focus on creating a compassionate and non-judgmental environment, where one can freely express their thoughts and feelings and begin to truly understand their internal experience.
