I am Cadence Gazo, a Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate and Trained EMDR Therapist dedicated to guiding and supporting people of all ages on their journey toward healing. I believe in the healing power of creative expression and a holistic approach. It can be difficult to put words to our visual experiences and emotions, especially when trauma has occurred. Expressive Therapies and EMDR can help us to connect these and bring fragmented parts of ourselves together. My goal is to facilitate a space in which you can process the difficulties of life, strengthen resiliency skills, overcome and heal from trauma, and thrive.

I am a LCSW with more than twenty years of clinical experience working with individuals with severe mental illness, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, and trauma. I also have more than ten years of experience supervising CSW's for licensure. My efforts are directed at supporting clients to find their own answers, gain insight and clarity, and ultimately promote their physical, mental, social, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing so that they may thrive.

Taking the first step toward your own healing or help for your teen can feel overwhelming, but with the right support it doesn't have to be. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and person-centered environment for each of my clients. My goal is to walk with you on this journey, empowering you or your teen to feel confident in making positive changes.

Therapy is a process of exploring layers of the self which takes time, compassion, understanding and encouragement. My intention is to meet people where they are in this process and through collaboration establish goals for growth and change. I seek to offer support to those on their journey to personal well being and healing by utilizing an integrative approach. Mindfulness, person centered, strength based, and Expressive Therapy techniques are some of the tools that I like to offer. I am also a certified Havening Techniques practitioner and level II Usui Reiki energy worker.

My work with clients has included addressing depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity concerns as well as the social/emotional challenges that accompany ADHD, Autism and other disabilities. As a self avowed ‘nerd therapist’ with ADHD myself, I am passionate about working with fellow nerds, outcasts, artists or creatives who may feel out of sync with a mainstream approach. I am particularly adept at assisting clients in identifying their strengths and talents and applying them toward career, educational and other life goals. I am sex positive and endeavor to be an ally to LGBTQ+, poly and kink communities.
