Accepting new clients. We all want to be understood but people who actually listen to us are rare. Many things in the world recently have increased our stress, causing conflicts and straining our relationships. Sometimes we all need a trustworthy, confidential person to talk to who will listen and understand us. For 20+ years, I've provided a safe space for people to talk about their anxiety, fears, and relationships. I listen attentively & without judgement. I am a psychologist with over 30 years of experience doing therapy and psychological assessment with a wide variety of clients. I especially enjoy working with couples who are seeking to improve communication and intimacy in their relationship, and with adult women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.

As Forrest Gump's mother once said, "You've gotta put the past behind you before you can move on." While this idea sounds somewhat simple, putting the past behind us; especially a traumatic one, can be easier said than done. In my work with individuals, I embrace a philosophy that helps people explore their past experiences in order to better understand their present day ones. We a systems approach, to work together to recognize patterns in thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships that have developed through your unique experiences. Providing support with issues of grief, depression, anxiety, physical and emotional abuse, divorce, parenting, adjustment, spiritual, and relationship concerns is a priority.

I am accepting new clients as of 4/15/2024. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience, specializing in working with the adult and senior population. I have a deep understanding of individuals and families facing various difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, mental illness, loss, and grief, hospice, later life out of home moves and adjustments, independent and assisted living transitions (elder life), domestic violence, chronic and terminal illness.

I have extensive experience with mood disorders, trauma and addictions and work with all ages. I am trained in EMDR and use that technique with both children and adults if appropriate. My clients often state when they first spoke to me they felt immediately at ease and did not feel judged. I am able to assist my clients in seeing patterns in their life story and work to identify and change core beliefs such as "I'm not good enough", "I'm defective" or "I cannot trust others."
