I enjoy working with clients with whom I share identity community; with survivors of sexual assault, attachment trauma, and neglect; queer couples ; and people exploring their mixed-race and queer identities.
We make sense of ourselves and our world through stories we tell about ourselves, stories that are told about us and the world by our people, and our experiences in our homes and communities. In our work together we will explore the stories and patterns that weave together your past and present to empower you to creatively shift them and move towards living a more fulfilling life; more at home in, and assured of yourself.

Feeling isolated, depressed, anxious, or just want a non-judgmental person to speak with about the peaks and valleys of life? You're not alone! Therapy utilization is at an all time high in the United States. Just by looking for a therapist, you have done something brave and started your journey to healing. “Yoga means addition—addition of energy, strength, and beauty to body, mind, and soul.”—Amit Ray, Indian author and spiritualist In order to get to the root of what’s causing your discomfort we have to go towards and not away. This is painful but will cause change. I’m going to ask you to share your story with me. But you don’t have to do it alone. I see myself as both a support and a fierce advocate for clients to assist with their growth and navigation through the barriers. Through the addition of support and guidance I can help increase your energy strength and beauty of your self as a whole.

I have experience working with individuals, couples , groups and families.
I remember my own experience meeting my new therapist. I was anxious to talk to a new person. I did not know if I would make sense. I did not want to feel judged. I remember feeling lost and hopeless. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to change the bad feelings and I resisted to believe that there was something wrong with me. I wanted someone who could guide me to understand my world and myself. I wanted a safe space. I needed to find someone who could collaborate with me in changing and resisting. I did not want a therapist who treated me as a study object. I just wanted to feel fully human.

I work with clients at every stage of development in 1:1, couples , and family sessions.
Deeply passionate about social justice and facilitating and guiding positive change and development in the lives of others, I am thrilled to connect with you as you begin your journey inward. Healing is truly the risk of showing up for yourself and your resistance to temptation to go back to unsilenced needs, numbing out, disconnection, and erasure. As a black, gender non-binary Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), I have a personal stake and insight into the work I do. My clinical practice aims to empower and heal individuals, families & communities through therapy, consulting, case management, training, & community outreach.

Therapy is the fight for autonomy over our decisions and our strengths-based connections in the aftermath. The universal social work tradition is to build practice based on reciprocity, continuity of care, consent, and affirmation. Therapists build supportive networks through community-based knowledge, interrelationships and love. We labor for access to self determination over our own identities and communities at large. We take a holistic view of the self through a social context, and work to create open and dynamic spaces and roles for ourselves and each other. This must include confronting stigma, isolation and disconnection.

My clients are dreaming of a better world, but feel stuck in dealing with a world that wasn't made with them in mind and is causing them great pain. They are passionate about change, both for themself and for the world around them, but might not know where or how to start. I used to feel this way before I embarked on my own healing journey, which I've been undergoing for years and which is still ongoing. I don't have all the answers, but I do have complete faith in my clients' capacity for change. I view this change process as starting with self, connecting with community, and finally engaging in systems change.

Specializing in LGBTQ+ identity affirming and gender inclusive care, I believe your story is unique, powerful, and deserving to be heard. Life is too short to stay stuck in bad relationships, let trauma take the wheel, or feel anxious and upset all the time. I want you to experience the freedom of meeting life on life’s terms, with a sense of purpose and meaning. Somatic psychotherapy is a whole-person approach, body and mind. Trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship and attachment issues, and gender dysphoria, are among my specialities.

Note: I am currently scheduling clients for May-June, and seeing LSWs seeking group and individual supervision) We live in catastrophic times. The world is in upheaval and most of us struggle to feel a sense of purpose, belonging, or hope in the future. Many of us have sought therapy to help us survive the ordeals of anxiety, depression, and trauma-but surviving is not thriving. It's hard to find a connection with somebody who truly understands, much less somebody who has the insight to illuminate the depths of our psyche, or bring warmth to the cold corners of our trauma.

(They/Them pronouns) I'm a music therapist! An ideal client can expect me to treat them with honesty, compassion, and a reverence for their situation. Life is HARD, and if I can help them learn how to cope with their struggles even a little bit, I'm doing my job. They can also expect a pretty flexible schedule to fit their needs. As far as what I offer: Expressive Music Journaling, voice training, trauma-informed person-centered psychotherapy with clients from all walks of life, and vocal music therapy/improvisation. I am also open to putting on favorite music and exploring memories that arise, and discussing them!

Many come to therapy to change patterns of relating to others and themselves that they feel no longer serve them. I believe that these patterns, hard as they may be now, likely played some important role for you in the past. Perhaps addictions, habits, or defenses met otherwise unmet needs in your life, but now have become limiting and compulsive. I see myself as your partner in a process of deep listening, a process which facilitates growth, healing, and new possibilities for relating to your self and others. Specialties and modalities include: Clinical Hypnosis, gender therapy, trauma, addictions. Also see my group therapy option.

We move through institutions of power our entire lives. First, family, then we form friends at school, fall in love in college, maybe grow close to others in religious communities. Along the way, we encounter experiences that enable us to become more of our authentic selves. Sometimes, these experiences are less than ideal, other times, these experiences are more traumatizing than we originally thought. Depression, anxiety, insomnia, are a few things that manifest and these are the PTSD-related symptoms that I specialize in.

Maybe you’re just starting your healing journey, or looking for a change - to meet with a therapist who sees you as a whole person, and not just your circumstances. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before but it feels like no one really gets it, or the things that “should” work just don’t. Therapy with Bailey is a little bit different because we have to do things in new ways to start to think and feel better than before. Based out of Pittsburgh, PA and serving clients in Utah through telehealth, this is truly therapy outside the box.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in Pennsylvania, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in Pennsylvania listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
