I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual and
family therapy
services online. I am an LGBTQ-affirming and specialize in working with teens and families around depression, suicidality, gender and sexuality, neurodiversity, and trauma. Therapy can be a vulnerable and formative process, and it is important to find a therapist that feels like a good fit for you! I practice from a relational, social-justice-oriented, trauma-informed, systemic lens. I believe that change comes from authentic connection between a client and a therapist, involvement of a supportive network, and a mutual collaboration around treatment.

We move through institutions of power our entire lives. First,
family
, then we form friends at school, fall in love in college, maybe grow close to others in religious communities. Along the way, we encounter experiences that enable us to become more of our authentic selves. Sometimes, these experiences are less than ideal, other times, these experiences are more traumatizing than we originally thought. Depression, anxiety, insomnia, are a few things that manifest and these are the PTSD-related symptoms that I specialize in.

I am an individual and
family
practitioner with over fifteen years of experience working as an educator, community organizer, counselor, social worker and therapist.
I believe that therapy begins with the building of a strong, honest, and collaborative relationship. Through the creation of this alliance, it becomes possible to discover a client-centered focus for treatment and to engage dynamically in the therapeutic process. I see therapy as a space for healing and growth, co-created and nurtured by both client and clinician. My practice is psychodynamic, relational, and at its core holistic, recognizing and integrating the biological, psychological, and social aspects of experience, as well as the individual, institutional, and cultural roots of issues as they arise.

Using attachment frameworks, Internal
Family
Systems, and somatic approaches, I support people in coming home to their bodies and emotional selves, and in creating brave relationships in which they are witnessed deeply and meaningfully, to restore them to their agency and security, and empowering them to live their lives more fully.
I work with people to help them explore, understand, and heal from the ways life has left its imprints upon them— be that from trauma, oppression, or simply the complexity of our messy and beautiful interconnectedness with each other. My approach is creative, humorous and relational. It is rooted in values of anti-oppression, abolitionism, and harm reduction.

I support people dealing with depression, anxiety, relational distress, life transitions, chronic illness, autism and/or ADHD. Healthy relationships with our
family
, friends, and support systems including therapy inform our ability to cope, process, and grow. I believe healing happens when we develop self-compassion for our most shamed parts and build support systems that meet us with care and understanding. My style is integrative, mindful and rooted in social justice.

Together, we can explore your
family
dynamics, significant relationships, areas of oppression and privilege, and past experiences and traumas to gain insight into why you struggle in the ways that you do and what you may want to address in order to grow, heal and move towards your goals.
I believe that growth happens when we are in connection with trusted others. I strive to build a strong, emotionally safe, affirming, and collaborative relationship with each of my clients. I also believe in the value of exploring earlier experiences and the importance of understanding yourself in terms of the socio-cultural and familial contexts you are embedded in.

We all deserve to be heard, connected with, and loved authentically--there are so many of us who feel like we aren't seen for who we are, whether its because we feel held back by past struggles or we're still trying to learn who we want to be. I want to hear your story and help you finally feel seen. I'm here to create a safe space so you can bring what you need to our session. Therapy is a place to laugh, cry, explore, and overcome. We can do that together through empathy and person-centered work, where I meet you where you are and help you find the growth and change you're looking for.

Deeply passionate about social justice and facilitating and guiding positive change and development in the lives of others, I am thrilled to connect with you as you begin your journey inward. My clients are dreaming of a better world but feel stuck in a world that is causing them great pain. They are passionate about change, both for themself and for the world around them, but might not know where or how to start. If this sounds like you, I want to offer you support in figuring out what change can even look like and how to reach towards it. I can't offer you "the answers" but I can offer you my belief in your ability to change yourself and your world, if you choose it. I view this change process as starting with self, connecting with community, and finally engaging in systems change.

Therapy is the fight for autonomy over our decisions and our strengths-based connections in the aftermath. The universal social work tradition is to build practice based on reciprocity, continuity of care, consent, and affirmation. Therapists build supportive networks through community-based knowledge, interrelationships and love. We labor for access to self determination over our own identities and communities at large. We take a holistic view of the self through a social context, and work to create open and dynamic spaces and roles for ourselves and each other. This must include confronting stigma, isolation and disconnection.

How can I find a therapist in Pennsylvania?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
