Adults experiencing work or personal difficulties due to diagnosed or suspected ADHD is a specialty and in such cases we work to develop strategies for better organization and focus.
I believe people seek help from when they get "stuck" in some aspect of their lives. Through my 25 plus years of practice I work to help others make changes, choices, solve problems, and to grow in order to get "unstuck" and progress. I take an active, interactive, and supportive approach to therapy and use a variety of approaches as needed, sometimes working with the past and always with applications to the present.

My typical client is a child, adolescent, or young adult struggling with depression/anxiety, ADHD or high functioning ASD. Problems with adaptation to school, peers, home life, work and community bring havoc and heartache to the client, parents, teacher, classroom or social life. Underachievement, conflict with parents and siblings, damaged self-esteem, or issues navigating healthy friendships are the norm for the population I treat every day. Parents and teachers look to me for guidance in helping coach the client to better choices, improved school functioning, and overall psychological health. I use strategic tools and templates to fulfill these goals.

You know you have ADD / ADHD , or you think you might have it. What you know for sure is this-it just shouldn't be this hard. You have trouble beginning projects, staying on task, and completing things. You feel overwhelmed, yet you know deep down you are intelligent, creative, even resourceful. You have training or expertise in your field, but you constantly feel like your going to make a mistake. Most of all, you live with an overly-developed nagging inner critic. You can change this picture. Call and share with me what you most want to accomplish.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Pennsylvania ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Pennsylvania.
