I believe that we all experience trauma at some point in our lives whether we recognize it or not. Unaddressed and unprocessed trauma affects all aspects of our lives - school, work, parenting and relationships. Initially, my goal is to help individuals understand and identify trauma and how it impacts everyday living. As the therapeutic process continues, I will aid in creating new healthy pathways of thinking as well as how to react and respond to triggers that result from past traumatic events.

Allie received her BS in Youth Advocacy from Texas Christian University and graduated with her Masters in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. At Bayou City Counseling, she works with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, grief, OCD, and relationship issues. Allie is trained in EMDR and is passionate about working with clients who have experienced trauma, abuse, and PTSD. Allie is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and enjoys working with dating, engaged, and married couples. Allie is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and has clinical experience in non-profit and private practice settings.

PTSD and trauma resolution (using ART and EMDR), Addiction recovery, as well as couples therapy are among my specialties. I work 12-7 pm and weekends. I worked for 10+ years as a therapist in a highly respected residential treatment center for adolescents with addiction as well as other mental health issues. My experience also includes working with people with extreme stress, depression and anxiety. I have over 25 years of experience as a helper to include a career as a high school science teacher and school counselor. I returned to school to earn my PhD from Texas A&M-Commerce University to become a therapist.
