During times of struggle or change having someone to help you through is invaluable. An outside perspective can be beneficial in navigating through and overcoming challenges. As a team, we can get through those tough times. You are an individual and as such my approach varies with what works best for you. Empathy and compassion are key components of client care. My skills have a wide range of applicability and I am passionate about my work. Whether it is skill building, understanding oneself, trauma, human sexuality, or another mental health need; I can help. We all need a little help sometimes; all you need to do is ask.

As we go through life we face challenges, from these challenges we may experience pain and suffering. As this pain becomes stored within us it creates burdens that may sometimes be too heavy to bear. As a result many may turn to temporary solutions. As I work with clients to explore and resolve pain and trauma more permanent solutions are often discovered and the burden of pain is reduced.

I am certified in EMDR and provide EMDR consultation to my colleagues. My passion is using EMDR therapy to help clients access their innate ability to heal, to grow, and to thrive in all areas of their lives. I have experience working with both teenagers and adults. EMDR therapy is effective for a variety of symptoms including depression, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, and relationship troubles.

Each person is unique in their strengths and needs therefore therapy must be individualized. I believe that my role as a therapist, is to create an environment where one enjoys coming in to see me and can leave with a sense of hope for their future. My style is to be my genuine self, casual and comfortable, accepting of everyone along with all their thoughts and emotions. Therapy does not have to be intimidating or scary; it can be a positive and peaceful experience.

It can be extremely frustrating to feel stuck, like you just can’t get out of a rut, whether that be a habit, behavior, relationship, or something else, and it can be hard to try and overcome it alone. While making the decision to ask for help can feel just as challenging as whatever you’re trying to overcome, it is such an important step to make to start getting out of that rut. In the past I have found myself stuck too, and have had to work through issues of motivation and lack of purpose through avoidance.
