Whether you have been struggling with a long-term issue like depression or anxiety, or have only more recently found yourself facing a difficult life change, finding a therapist that works with your particular strengths in a warm, supportive environment that is also challenging, can mean the difference between spinning your wheels and creating meaningful change. Utilizing a blend of evidence-based solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and family systems interventions, I will work collaboratively with you and possibly other important people in your life to identify your unique goals and develop a treatment plan to address your needs.
In my work with couples, I help identify and change the patterns that undermine intimacy and trust, thereby improving communication and connection. I also have a strong background in child, adolescent and parenting issues from my extensive experience as a youth counselor, early childhood and elementary school teacher and parent.
Because choosing a therapist is a personal decision, I will check in with you after our first few sessions and periodically throughout treatment to make sure you are comfortable moving ahead and to track progress. Many clients are happy with their results after as few as 8 sessions.
