I work with premarital, marital couples, and individual adults and adolescents. I believe in the wisdom of clients which allows them to be an active participant in the therapeutic process.
I focus on three main points with my clients.
1. Pay attention to repetitive patterns you are caught up in or that others are caught up in with you, and change anything you can about those patterns.
2. Notice what you are doing when things
are going better, and do more of that.
3. Acknowledge the facts and influence of the past, without letting them determine the present or future.
Traditional therapy focusing on the cause of problems, "what is wrong." Doing this keeps clients stuck in the problem they rehearse over and over again. A better approach moves client focus off of what's wrong (the problem) and onto what's right (solutions), stressing the resources and skills clients already.
Completed training and examinations required to become a Qualified Administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Instrument.
Trained as a facilitator for premarital couples in administering the FOCCUS Inventory (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study)designed to help couples learn more about themselves and their unique
relationship.
