We live in a sometimes broken and fast paced world so at times our perceptions are negatively impacted or skewed by the world without us being fully aware of it. The good news is, once negative patterns are recognized, they can be challenged or changed freeing us from the negative emotions that were tied to them.
Rather than just using a few well-known CBT components with a mix of other theories, I became certified in CBT as it is the "gold standard" in treating anxiety & depression; it works. Meds fix biological issues but they won’t fix "thinking errors" & although compassion is important in therapy, therapy is about much more than talking warmly like old friends.
