Peg Walsh, CNS, MS in Bonita Springs
For most of us, life doesn't turn out exactly the way we planned. We sometimes repeat behaviors that don't bring us what we want. We get stuck. Therapy can help you move forward. I can help you can hear yourself differently, make connections that you didn't see before, learn new information about yourself and the situations that frustrate you. You can learn to assert yourself and ask for what you want while also developing negotiating skills. Options that you had not considered, emerge. When therapy is successful you feel more alive and more connected.
I believe that I am unique in my approach to couples therapy. I combine Sex Therapy (ASSECT Certified) with the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.. Both these approaches teach couples practical tools to restore friendship, have productive conflict, recreate passion and intimacy and define their goals and dreams as a couple.
I believe in the power of creating possibilities and choices. There is always another way to look at any situation, even yours.

Group Therapy for Caregivers of Family with Alz

This newly forming Caregivers Group for family who care for loved ones with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or other chronic disease will be different from a monthly support group. This group is made up of 6-9 people who meet weekly to share their stories and to reclaim their lives. Being the primary caregiver often feels as if you have lost your own life. Depression, anger and loneliness are common. This will be an in depth process where participants can focus on themselves and what they need. It will reduce the sense of isolation and allow them to consider self care.
