My specialty is bereavement. I help clients to cope with the loss of a loved one, physical illness, and anticipatory grief. I also help clients cope with life transitions such as: job loss, relocating, divorce, retirement and relationship issues. My belief is that we all hold the answers to help ourselves, we just need to uncover them. I use a combination of brief therapy, experiential therapy, and emotionally focused therapy to help clients reinvest and reinvent themselves after a traumatic life event such as the death of a loved one. I see individuals, couples, families, adults and adolescents 17 and older.
I have a Certificate in Thanatology, which is the study of death and dying. I have 15+ years experience helping clients with the loss of a loved one, including the loss of a child. I am an active member of ADEC-- The Association of Death Education and Counseling. I have completed Level 1 Training in Couples Therapy at The Gottman Institute.
I specialize in helping people who are facing a life-threatening illness themselves or a family member. I worked for the The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester for 13 years as a group facilitator. I have facilitated caregiver and bereavement support groups at Lifetime Care of Rochester.
