About
My main focus is relationship/ couples therapy. I have extensive experience working with individuals across the life span, couples, families and groups from various backgrounds i.e cultures and age groups with a wide range of psychosocial stressors with areas of focus, including but not limited to, testing for ADHD, marital/ relationship conflicts, divorce, mental health, eating disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, maturational stress, military lifestyle, interpersonal/intrapersonal conflicts, suicidal ideations, grief and loss, child/adult abuse, parent child -relational issues.
As a Psychotherapist , the clinical focus is empowering individuals, with the strengths and abilities they have within to overcome life's stressors. My approach in counseling is eclectic in which I utilize therapeutic modalities (not limited to) such as Gottman Couples Therapy, CBT for Depression and Anxiety, Person Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Educational experience includes a BA in Psychology and Family & Social Relations from the University of Windsor & MSW from Norfolk State University. Work experience includes inpatient therapy within a Hospital Setting, Emergency Psychiatric Treatment with The City of Alexandria and Counseling with the DOD
