I am a licensed clinical psychologist in practice for over 25 years. Currently, my practice is dedicated to neurofeedback. Years of working as a therapist inform my work and lead to a deep understanding of various diagnoses, symptoms and how these impact people's lives.
Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback used to teach people how to regulate EEG or brainwaves. Dysregulation of the brain is the cause of emotional, psychological and behavioral issues. It is a non-invasive, medication free way to treat many emotional and behavioral issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and more.
With specialized equipment, a brain map of overall EEG functioning is created. Areas of dysregulation are identified and using computer software that mirrors the client's real time brainwave activity, the client is taught to promote optimal EEG in that area. Insurance does not cover neurofeedback, making it an out of pocket expense.
