Curiosity and warmth, with a healthy dose of humor, are the primary ingredients I bring to create a warm, collaborative environment where you can explore problems and losses that prevent you from enjoying life. My therapeutic orientation is essentially relational, and I draw heavily on IFS and psychodynamic approaches. While I value theoretical insights, I prioritize collaboration and meet each patient with the assumption that you have useful knowledge about yourself and given the right tools and support, are capable of effecting meaningful, practical change in your life.
I bring a passionate and compassionate curiosity to my work as a psychotherapist and lifelong student of psychology and philosophy. This means I am curious about YOU; what you love, what losses and fears are holding you back, and what can happen when you have the support to learn and practice skills that will help you live more joyfully.
I have spent more than 20 years supporting patients who deal with compulsive coping mechanisms like substance misuse and disordered eating. I also have extensive experience working with mood disorder, issues related to mixed racial identity and identity in general, as well as grief and loss.
