About
As a Registered Play Therapist, I specialize in children ages 4-12 years. I engage them with both therapeutic play, creative arts interventions and therapeutic games. When children and young adolescents come to therapy they need to feel safe and enjoy the experience while learning skills to improve how they feel. When families come to therapy, they look for guidance from an experienced therapist who will join with their family and help them navigate through their family issues. Depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, divorce, adoption and life adjustments are all issues that lead many children and families to seek specialized treatment.
A Registered Play Therapist is a professional designation beyond regular licensure to practice therapy and shows a therapist is highly trained and experienced in the treatment of children. I also enjoy working with teens especially teen artists who are interested in a therapeutic journey that involves creative arts interventions. I see both children and adults who have experienced trauma using the most advanced and evidenced based treatment, EMDR. I was trained to work from a developmental perspective which makes me uniquely qualified to treat kids and adults using EMDR.
I'm the type of therapist that realizes that we are all human and that families deal with real life problems. There is noone truly living the made for TV family life. I'll do my best to make you comfortable. I'm certain there will be times when I will laugh with you as certain as I am that at times I will gently challenge you, your child or your family to be the best you can be in the moment.
