Where do you you heal? Is it always talk? I have worked with children/families most of my career and have had to think of different ways to process feelings. For young children it's often play, for older children working with animals, for many it's a walk in the woods. Brain science confirms that these methods are effective for emotional regulation. The most successful factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I honor that. Some clients bring two session issues, others bring trauma that need a trusting, gentle partner, who is willing to go deep. Come sit in my tree house setting to learn, to grow, and to heal.
I work collaboratively with both parents, support staff. I have done a lot of additional training on attachment and trauma. Which led my to my specialized training working with animals. In Spring,Summer and Fall we offer horse therapy, and dog training adding experts to our team to help which helps with leadership, impulse control and attachment.
I practice at my Burnsville location four days a week. Mornings have been a wonderful time for women who want to go deeper to process trauma using EMDR. After school hours are reserved for children and family work. I like to meet with parents in the first session.
