I am a professional ethicist and professor of philosophy who serves clients as a philosophical counselor. As a philosophical counselor, I serve those in need of a different kind of guidance than that provided by psychological counselors. Many problems in life are not psychological, or problems of mental health. Rather, they are ethical, intellectual, or even spiritual. I provide a safe, supportive environment in which clients can explore issues of concern to them.

I also serve to support the work of psychological counselors. Anxiety, depression, grief, loss, psychological trauma, and major life transitions often confront people with complex ethical and intellectual challenges, which can interfere with therapeutic progress.

My clients are people from all walks of life. Veterans, survivors of sexual violence, social workers, and people of every faith are welcome. Philosophical counseling is not covered by insurance. Rates are on a sliding scale. Clients experiencing mental disorders are required to be in treatment with a licensed professional.
