My name is Paul Teska. I have a LPC and a LCDC license, and I fully believe that every one can get better. Throughout my career, I have probably worked with every single situation in the counseling field. I have worked inpatient, outpatient, and telepatient. I have worked in prisons, jails, psychiatric hospitals, IDD facilities, community MHMR, and community counseling centers.
I start with a client-centered approach, and then once I learn a sufficient amount of information about the client then I decide to continue with client-centered or go to cognitive, behavioral, or any other technique that will benefit the client. I use the technique that will best help the client.
I will talk to the client about setting goals, and we will agree upon them together. I want the client to be fully vested in the goals.
