About
I work with adults and adolescents who face the usual and unusual problems that arise from living, and who wish to deeply explore what matters most in their lives. As a lifelong student/teacher/writer on mindfulness and psychotherapy, many clients wish to draw on mindfulness practice and understanding in our work together. However, I am well trained over the course of many decades in a breadth of techniques, and draw on a range of approaches as we collaborate on the question of "what works" in therapy and life itself.
My style is active, warm, and collaborative; are we aligned on a course of action? Above all, I value the creation of a safe environment. I favor a pragmatic approach, and value looking deeply in order to learn to live in wisdom, contentment and kindness.
Many clients wish to draw on mindfulness practice and understanding in our work together and outside of the therapy hour. Often, however, it has no explicit role in the therapy. But where appropriate, it can become an essential adjunct to the way we work.
