In the Great Psychotherapy Debate (Wampold, 2001), studies demonstrated that if there are two groups of people with similar problems, those who receive counseling will be better off than 79% of those who do not receive counseling. Counseling can bring relief, resolution, clarity, freedom, or help you overcome a challenge. Our counseling style is encouraging, empowering, nonjudgmental, and thorough. We all have a training in variety of types of therapy and we will customize it to you.
At Health for Life Counseling we have many specialities, and one of them is working with the Men. We have male and female counselors that specialize in helping men. Most of us have advanced training in EMDR therapy, which is not talk therapy. It is a different method that has been show to be quite effective.
The counseling process is an investment. Our goal is to help you move from where you are to where you want to be. Our intention is to help you develop new skills and perspectives that you can use to enhance your life. We don't want to change you. We want to help you become the person you have always wanted to become.

DBT-Informed Skills Group
DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatment that teaches skills to reduce emotional suffering and improve relationships we have with ourselves and others.
