One of my favorite quotes is from Einstein when he stated that "we cannot solve our problems by the same mind that created them." Many problems are the result of faulty thinking that arises from a history of abuse, low self esteem, and difficult relationships. My goal is to help you become free of the emotional and mental conditioning that keeps you stuck in old patterns that don't work in your life. I work with adults, teens and couples to help them learn to live in joy rather than suffering.
I specialize in depression, including postpartum, anxiety and substance abuse. I work with couples and individuals who are struggling in their relationships and want to make a change but aren't sure how. I treat love and sex addiction as well as compulsive overeating. I offer spiritual counseling for those interested in living a more awakened life.
I have been a Marriage and Family therapist for over 20 years in the Carlsbad area. I have two teenage children so I am very experienced in parenting issues. I was a professor at CSUSM for over 10 years and taught relationship classes that included parenting as well as intimate partner violence.
